Casselberry, FL Parks & Recreation

Casselberry features an abundance of community parks from large multi-acre parks to small neighborhood parks.  The three major recreation parks in the area are Wirz Park with 29 acres of sports field and the Casselberry community pool, Secret Lake Park with a boardwalk, a fishing pier and the recreation center, and Anniversary Park with the Art House, an amphitheater, and gardens.  Within the area parks there are a number of recreational opportunities including fishing piers, nature trails, playgrounds, and even a dog park at Pawmosa Park. 

Convenient to Casselberry, Altamonte Springs also has an array of parks that provide ample opportunity to relax and have fun.  The most popular of the city parks is Cranes Roost Lake Park which welcomes thousands of visitors each year.  The park offers a boardwalk for taking a leisurely stroll or exhilarating jog and a floating stage that is the focal point of performances and events throughout the year.  The Lake Lotus Nature Park preserves the last wetlands area in Altamonte Springs.  A boardwalk provides natures lovers with a self-guided tour exploring natural Florida.

For residents seeking a slower pace, the many area state parks provide serenity in Central Florida.  Local state parks such as Wekiwa Springs, and Blue Springs, present nature lovers the opportunity to swim in the pristine waters of the Floridan Aquifer and the Wekiva River. These and other area state parks offer swimming, canoeing, hiking, camping and picnicking among wild Florida. 

At Hontoon Island State Park, visitors can access the park by private boat or park ferry.  Once on the island, hiking, canoeing and primitive camping are available.  DeLeon Springs offers a chance to swim in clear spring water and to eat self-made pancakes at the park restaurant. Patrons of the restaurant are seated at tables with built in griddles and invited to make-their-own pancakes.
